Sweet image Sandy, love the wing position and the peak breeding plumage.
Lovely breeding plumage and a nice sky in the background, Sandy. It was very nice of him(?) to grasp that branch by a side twig so it all stayed in focus.
Fine take, Sandy. Breeding plumage is great. At first glance it was hard to tell how he was holding the branch.
This is sweet… soft colors, love the sky…
Shooting with a 300mm? I have heard the birds are tame in Florida, but shooting
with 300 with what looks like a small crop must be fun!
Dan, There are several preserves in Florida where the birds are very close in, providing exceptional shots for those with patience. The patience involves trying to shoot between the heavy-footed, mostly very elderly people walking the boardwalks and constant questions about “what a big lens!” and “I see you almost every time I walk!” sometimes it’s even hard isolating a bird from others, there are so many. A joyous place I visited yearly every spring in the 25 years my parents lived there. Now they are gone, and I have not been back for several years.
Sandy
Sandy: the colors and shape of the bird really stand out against the pastel tones in the sky. The photo has a watercolor like quality to it. Richard
