Ama Dablam

The iconic Ama Dablam dominates the skyline of the Khumbu Valley in Nepal. The name directly translates to Mother’s Necklace and resembles the outstretched arms of a mother (‘Ama’ in Sherpa language) protecting her children. ‘Dablam’ is referring to the hanging glacier high on the peak, resembling the the traditional double pendant necklace often worn that contains pictures of the gods. Often referenced as the most beautiful mountain in the world, Ama Dablam holds a transcendent place in mountain culture

Welcome aboard to NPN. Beautiful dramatic peak, cold and clear above the clouds.

I’m absolutely loving that deep blue. Nicely executed. Great image.

Really nice Ivan. Some mountain images struggle to communicate a sense of grand scale, but you have done a great job of making this peak look impressive. I like the tight cropping at the top, and the roiling clouds below, they do a great job of making the mountain very look imposing.

What a fantastic image! I love the white and blue and the clouds at the bottom really just add so much to this.

Mountain, in its splendor. Beautiful image, I like the way the mountain emerges from the clouds.

Stunning image Ivan! Welcome to NPN.
