Superb job on the exposure and detail in the Oyster Catcher, Gary. For my taste , the background is a bit overpowering in this one, particularly that large light colored boulder in the upper part of the frame (but my wife just said she loves it, so what do I know?).

I agree with Dennis about the BG but dang, you have captured the black very nicely. That light on the bird really brings out the bird, Gary.

I disagree with the others re: background. I like it. O/W I agree with their comments.

Nice job getting the blacks and fine detail in the oystercatcher. I think the background works as an environmental shot; where one typically sees these birds.
