Black-throated Sparrow

Taken a couple of weeks ago at Joshua Tree NP. Two years ago we were there and hiked into the pond formed by Barker Dam. The setting was one of the nicest we’ve seen. Unfortunately no water in the pond this year. Big disappointment. Compensated by a large flock of Black-throated Sparrows that were quite cooperative for close-up shots.

Excellent pose, Allen. I really like the composition and the natural perch. Detail in the bird is very good.

This is a very nice sparrow portrait. I like it a lot. It’s always extra fun to get to see bird’s crazy little feet doing their work. Love it.

Allen, remarkable photo of a an otherwise overlooked bird. Good feather detail, lovely bokeh and the Yucca gives good context. He even acommedated by turning his head just slightly toward you! I would like just a bit more canvas on the left side, both for the bird and the Yucca.
