Commenting a non-critique gallery

I’m so used to critiquing images that I’m not sure what to write on the other galleries. There is already a thumbs-up image to show that you like it.

Is anyone else facing a similar ‘crisis’?

I suppose we can ask questions. Like how was this processed and where was the image taken.

This will take some getting used to! The galleries are more for sharing photos just for fun, and/or sharing techniques, etc. You can certainly comment what you like about the image, but reserve the critiques for that forum where people are specifically asking for it.

In the past I feel many people were hesitant to even share photos because everything was open for critique.

Exactly what David said. For galleries, I comment on what I like about the image. I think also asking about processing is appropriate.
