Continuity and Change

This has been one of my favorite spots in the Columbia River gorge for years. I remember visiting with so many out of town friends and family and my kids pretty much grew up hiking to this waterfall. This was the first hike I took my dog Bailey on and I’m pretty sure it was our previous dog Cooper’s first hike too.

It’s great to come back and to see this canyon thriving, pushing on, cutting down into stone and doing what nature always does-

Not hard to see and understand why this might be a favorite of yours and your family. No doubt great memories made here.

I think the centered comp works well, as does the fallen log in framing the scene (can’t imagine being around there when that one toppled over!) Colors and processing look good too.

Wow, gorgeous image. From the looks of those greens this must be spring time?

Thanks @Lon_Overacker Lon! for sure, that log was a pretty awesome crash when I came down.

Thanks @Chris_Rusnak, this was actually just a couple weeks ago. This spot is in a really misty little pocket, so the color is always vibrant like this.
