Crested Caracara

This is a photo from the Flight Program at the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson. Caracaras are native to the Sonoran Desert but, I could never get this in the wild. These are members of the falcon family but, certainly don’t look like them.

Charlie, that is a cool looking falcon. Wonderful image and great capture.

It’s a little tight, but I like it alot. Swell looking bird in a very cool pose.

Great flight pose and angle, Charlie. There seems to be a loss of detail in the Caracara. Is this a large crop?

Thanks. Yes, it is about a 60% crop. I just wanted to fill the frame with the bird and knew I would lose some detail. I only had a small zoom.
