Fighting Hippos

These two rose up from the water FAR too close to our small boat, imo.
Hippos seem such docile creatures, but are actually exceptionally dangerous.
I don’t know if it was one of these two, but the next day there was a dead hippo in this exact area.

Nice interaction here. Good color. I like how the water fades into the background. Was this a large lake or river? Was the POV looking down on the hippos?

A very large river, and I was standing up in the boat (ill-advised) to try to get a perspective into their mouths/fangs.

A cool interaction and interesting POV. The Hippo on the left appears to be a young one. I wished to see more of their faces, but you capture what you get.
BTW Hippos are not docile creatures at all, most of the humans killed in the wild are by Hippos.

Excellent, Sandy. I learned my lesson about standing up in small boats in a canoe one time-luckily it wasn’t far to shore, but the new pair of glasses to replace those lost reminded me frequently.

Wonderful light, color and action. Exceptional detail and I like the low angle perspective.
