Fish Onboard

Another favorite of my salmon fishing Bald Eagle photos. This one is a re-post from the Avian Critique Gallery and is one photo in the middle of a 14 photo series that I posted in the Avian Showcase Gallery. The eagle waited on the rock for a salmon to swim buy and jumped into the water to grab one. This one was taken after it dragged the salmon back onto the rock.

For the whole series go to: Fish On!

I remember this image and the series, Gary. A great image.

Wow! Wonderful sharpness and detail! Excellent action, wonderful setting! And the sequence is amazing!

Gary, sounds like a great time seeing how the eagles and this one in particular “fished”. The details in the bird, the wing V, the fish and all of the splashing water make an outstanding view.

Great picture Looks like a Dolly to me.

Thanks, Igor. The fish is actually a rather large and healthy Pink Salmon. This was taken at the mouth of the Valdez pink salmon hatchery.

I’ve always wanted to go there. They say you can catch one on every cast.
