While photographing Resplendent Quetzals early one morning on my recent trip, this Flame Colored Tanager appeared behind me on a fence.

A lovely bird and extremely sharp. I like the pose and the sense of scale provided by the barbed wire (one thing to be said for man-made perches).

Beautiful bird with a great background. Stands out nicely from the wire perch. Bird seems a little over sharpened to me.
