Yellowstone National Park was established 148 years ago, today. I’ve chosen one of my favorite “oldies” to mark the occasion, from back when I was first getting into nature photography and had started visiting the park each summer (I’ve gone back every year since 2000).
This was photographed in 2003, when I was just making the transition from film to digital. I primarily shot digital on this trip, but brought my film camera along with a few precious rolls of slide film to use for any special moments. This sunset on the Madison River qualified. I used up an entire roll. I asked this gentleman if I could snap a few shots of him as he fished, and he was fine with it.
