This lamb had strayed from its mother ( in the background ) to nibble on a fallen tree trunk. The trunk has fleece left in various places, so it seems the sheep use it fairly often ( for sharpening teeth ? ) I attach a view of ewe and lamb grazing in the field, with the small group of trees to the right.

A very interesting bit of behavior, Ian. I’d really love to know if it’s for teeth sharpening or maybe something in the bark they find tasty or beneficial. Compositionally, I think cropping mom out to give more emphasis on the lamb might work better. That would also provide the opportunity to pick up the edge of the lane at the corner. I really like the curves of the lane and the old stone wall.
