Wow, Michael! The backlighting to bring out the reds in the flight feathers is unique and enriching. What a perfect accompaniment to the light coming through the yellow beak.

Many thanks, Hank! Before the rising sun clears the tree tops, there are brief moments when most of the scene is still dark, but, with planning and luck, an almost horizontal ray of light will penetrate the trees and catch a bird in flight. These are the moments I cherish the most.
