Taken on 10-11-2020 with Canon 5ds-r and 180 canon Macro lens at f-8, 1/1600 sec, iso of 250.

Wayne, this is a nice perspective of a Magnolia seed pod. It looks like only one petal left, and it curves so nicely over the pod. I am wondering if you had used a higher number f-stop, and cut down the shutter speed (shouldn’t need 1/1600 on a relatively still subject), if maybe the bottom portion of the seed pod what have been in focus. I might would consider toning down the petal in the LLC a bit maybe to keep the eye more on the seed pod. Still a very nice shot as presented I think.

Thanks Shirley, Trying to use Tv or Av mode on my Canon 5ds-r. I agree with your comment and will have to review my settings when shooting. Was probably in Full Automatic mode when this was shot in September 2020.
