Ribbons of Rock

This photo is from a portion of a rock wall at Sunset Bay in Shore Acres State Park in Oregon.
The striations of rock ran vertically. I rotated it 90 degrees to show more movement and make it more dynamic.
It was taken with an iPhone.

Feedback is always appreciated.

Chris, you’ve got a fine sense of movement here with the bright right to darker left and all of those “horizontal” lines. While the vertical view would be interesting, I suspect that your rotation adds a lot to the view.

Thank you for your comments, Mark.

Chris: Interesting decision regarding the rotation. I tend to see vertical compositions more naturally so when I flipped this back to the “real” orientation it has a soaring quality that actually feels more dynamic to me. You might post the original as a comparison. Either way this is a wonderful rock face with marvelous colors and textures. Most excellent. >=))>

It’s interesting how people read photographs differently. To me I see the rocks swooping out toward the viewer as they move from left to right.
