Rufous

A couple of male Rufous Hummingbirds in a Bush looking for nectar in some dark purple flowers. This was a difficult exposure from a standpoint of locking onto focus with so many distracting branches around the birds. And it was pretty dark and cloudy at the time. Taken at ISO 5000. Large crops; both of them around 15% of full frame or 7 1/2 megapixels out of 50.

Nice! That’s a hefty crop, but both pics work quite well. I could wish for the upper branch to be behind the wing on the second one, but hey, what can you do? I think they’re both great captures. Congrats.

Hi David
This shows the power of the A1 camera and its ability to produce good photos at 7.1meg. Of course this is only passable with the right person behind the camera.
