These little “islands” serve as sanctuaries at this local nature center. Located some distance from the shoreline and undisturbed from any human interaction on the water, wildlife flourishes here. One overcast morning I ventured outside the city, hiked to the far side of this lake, and captured this scene. The quality of light was great, and the scene was quiet and peaceful.
