The temperature has stopped dipping and started to get warmer, touching about 20C early in the morning. This one probably walked out of the pupa on the day I made this image. Was at ground level literally.

An early season swallowtail was a pretty good find. Overall, a pleasing image with body and wings in pretty good focus. I wish the entire grass seed head and hindleg were in the plane of focus. Other than that nit, a fine start for the New Year. Well done…Jim
