Southern Red Bishop

It was nice to get back to Tanzania at a different time of year (February) than when I’d visited previously. This allowed me to see some “new” species. This was my first encounter with the Southern red bishop. This one was pretty shy, sticking to the far side of a bush away from our vehicle, but I was able to barely find an angle to shoot through the foliage.

Excellent effect with the OOF greenery surrounding the bird.

You did a great job of getting this shot and the blurred/hazy foreground just adds to the mood.

Thank you, David and Dan.

Gorgeous bird, well captured. I like how you shot through the foliage to make the bishop really stand out.
