Trouble in Paradise

I was taken by the combination of the sinister-looking shadows of the parts of the grasses that were above water and the dim, soft texture of the plants beneath the surface.

What technical feedback would you like if any? What artistic feedback would you like if any?

Always happy to hear about technical issues anyone notices. Artistically, I’m wondering if this has any appeal. When I shot this, I was thinking high key, to accentuate the shadows.

Pertinent technical details or techniques:

Single frame, a73r, 100-400mm @ 400mm, 1/125s, f/16, ISO 1000 (which makes me think this was hand held)

I think this is a very cool abstract, Bonnie. It looks like one insect chasing another. Very well seen and executed.

Bonnie, I think this works very well with the dark bits above the water and the ghostly similar bits below. That above/below tension makes the viewing interesting. The transition from light gray to white border is a good touch also.

A nicely fascinating yet subtle abstract. Lots of interesting detail too. Works well for me.
