A third basswood bract in the snow. This one didn’t leave tracks since it was slightly imbedded. Another minimalist approach.

Specific Feedback Requested

Too much negative space? Does the dusting of snow on the stem break up the form too much?

Technical Details

Processed in Lr to even out the shadow on the snow and add some clarity and color to the bract with a brush. Not cropped.

Kristen: The flatter light makes this a less compelling image for me than the first two but I do think you could raise the impact by boosting the whites a bit. I like the comp and the proportion of subject to frame. Another winner. >=))>

Kristen, I agree with Bill, and I like his edit very much. I’m enjoying all of your shots of this leaf and berries.

Thanks peeps. I re-edited and posted another version in the original post.

Kris, the minimalist approach tells it’s own story, showing how small the bract is in the large expanse of snow, when a tightly focused view would be all about the bract. The brighter version is nicely improved.
