Wasps?

Can someone identify these insects? Some kind of wasp? Update: looks like Golden-reined Digger Wasp (from iNaturalist).

Seen this morning at Memphis Botanic Gardens.

Not sure exact species, but they sure look like wasps to me (could be golden diggers). I like the direction of opposites pose and the fact that they’re both in pretty decent focus. The greens behind are a little subdued, but make them stand out nicely.

Just a guess.

Allen, I too like the opposite poses that they gave you. They stand out nicely on the pretty flower. I’m not familiar with this particular wasp, but it looks like the one Linda found, so I think you guessed it right.

The legs on Allen’s digger wasps are black with completely orange gaster. So they are not great golden digger wasps…Jim
