Typical isn’t it. I’ve waited nearly a decade for something more than a few odd snow flakes to fall in Scotland and I am inundated with the stuff now we’re barely allowed out of the front door without a World War II gas mask and a full Hazmat suit. I get it, but it’s no less infuriating. This evening it snowed for the umpty first time this year and I ventured out a couple of miles stealthily avoiding anyone else mad enough to get some fresh air and came across this path way through snow spattered pines and pink earth shadow light filtering through between the regimented tree trunks a few minutes after sunset. Gorgeous and a welcome change from the scary monotony of seeing the Covid death rate escalate like the jackpot winnings accumulater in a Las Vegas casino.
I feel your pain and don’t blame you for the stealth mission.
The image is a winner. Well-balanced - the surrounding trees and foliage with snow frame the gently lit trunks beautifully. The ground snow is in shadow, but nice job controlling the blues.

This is wonderful! Nicely composed with the closer branches in both the upper corners, the road curving through, strong verticals of the tress and the single darker tree in the center, the textures of the bushes and snow at the bottom. The pink glow is what really makes this special. Great image.

Special light and weather conditions are what make landscape photography so rewarding sometimes. For me it’s the trees that are special here, warm and sunlit on one side, and shaded and snowcovered on the other. Add this to the pink sky and you certainly hit the jackpot. Gorgeous image Ian.
A beautiful scene, Ian. We’re all sick & tired of Covid, for sure! The pink BG light really make this shot for me. The light gives it such a serene, peaceful feel.
