The New Delhi based Jagdeep Rajput is a painter turned award winning wildlife photographer. What
started out as an exploration of the enchanting natural world with the camera gradually gained momentum
and eventually happened to focus upon wildlife photography – and photographing Asian elephants in
particular. He for one believes that wildlife photography is not just limited to photographic hardware and
skills alone but also includes a deeper understanding and concern for the natural world.
His mantra is that if one is technically sound, then you are in a better position to capture any moment,
which it totally unexpected, wild and also which takes you by surprise. Even though painting happened
to be a natural phenomenon with light but winning awards was undoubtedly a byproduct of a lifelong
passion, which afforded him the opportunity to be part of the natural world ….even if only for a short while.
