I have been unable to spend much time on photography, but on Sunday, two of these little birds showed up in my yard and I got the camera out! D 850, 500 mm at 5.6, ISO 3200, 1/4000 sec. Composite as I used a low opacity texture to give the background, which was pretty flat green, a little boost.

This one turned out quite well. You may have lost some detail with the high ISO, but it is trivial to say the least. Your treatment of the background is suitable for this type of image. I like the image as presented. Awesome…Jim

Hi Kathy, the shutter speed was perfect. I like the freeze frame feel. Blurring the background worked nicely too. I might have cropped a bit off the left to get the bird off center, but that would ruin the background so…never mind.
