Burning Mum III

Yesterday was a “shooting for fun” day. Moving the camera, multiple exposures, low-angle, and just being silly.

This image is one that I was amazed at how it turned out given the flame-like structure.

The title is a salute to “Burning Man,” but the subject is a chrysanthemum.

Technical Details

Is this a composite: No
I didn’t check the shutter speed and such, but it was slow, and the camera moved from left to right. The final is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Processing in Lightroom pushing sliders too far in one direction or another until something acceptable was on the screen.

Very cool, Paul. I do think of flames. Nice touch with the rotation. As you said, this is fun.

Pretty cool image. Nice creativity.

Hooray for days where you can be silly and just play. It keeps things fresh. No mistakes, only experiments. This one turned out well. Flames is right. Pretty super.

Nicely done Paul! I love the “flames”. I haven’t tried intentional camera movement abstracts though I’ve done plenty of unintentional camera movement. :grinning: I really like your description for Lightroom processing. Sounds fun! Creativity in action!

Thanks, Steve. To paraphrase Kris’s Razor - “No experiments, only mistakes.”
