Fox Face-off

The red and gray foxes do not get along. Usually the gray fox would run, as the red fox is dominant. But the gray fox has kits nearby, and has refused to back down during their last few encounters. The gray likes to crouch low, and attack from that position. Happily, this encounter ended peacefully, with each fox going his own way. I shot this from my deck.

Cool encounter and nice image !
You may crop off some canvas in left hand side, it may work better as square comp.

Thanks, Jagdeep. I’ll give that a go.

Wow! That’s really awesome that you get to observe both of these kinds of foxes! To have 2 different families going on at the same time must be wonderful to watch! I’m glad they settled their differences peacefully! Glad you were able to capture this, it’s amazing!

Thanks, Vanessa. I’ve seen them get into quarrels and it ain’t pretty. I wish they could get along. But they are fascinating and fun to watch, and I’m blessed to have them around.
