Frosted Macro

I’m fascinated with frosted winter plants. This, taken at a Japanese Garden the morning after a winter snow. Blue bokeh from water beyond. I’m working with overlays and textures in post-processing.

Jennifer, the details in the center of the plant look great. The bright bit intersecting the top of the frame is a distraction that a different position might eliminate. This would be better if the two seed heads on the right were sharper and a bit darker. The texture in the background is interesting, but there is some posterization in the background, which may or may not be deliberate. The blue/white mix looks very good and the long stem adds some eye flow.

The weekly challenge runs from Sunday through the following Saturday (using Eastern USA time), so it looks like you missed the deadline for being considered for the editor’s pick. I hope you’ll continue to join in posting to the weekly challenge.
