Green Lacewing

While slowly roaming in the grassy meadow next door, I surprised several Lacewings. Eventually, I managed to get close to this one with it down in the grass and managed a clear look at it. (5D3, 180mm macro L, 1/250 s, f/11, iso 800, tripod)

Mark, what a treat, all the different shades of green. Wonderful details in the Lacewing. Great shot.

Hi Mark,

Lace wings are well designed for macro photography when at rest. Nice and sharp and the iridescence of the eye is evident. This will make a nice print for fans of the Neuroptera. Well done…Jim

Excellent detail and color. I am enjoying the diagonals. Save this one for the camo WC…

The Lacewing certainly blends in! I like the nice full side view and very fine detail in wings showing. Nice that you were able to catch up to one and get nice and close.

What lacewing?..really nice shot Mark
