I’m a native Southerner happily living in the PNW for the last 6 years. I love nature photography and I am most happy when I am at awe with the beauty around me. For me, photography is strickly a hobby; it’s for my enjoyment only. I love learning and expanding my photography skills. I hope to learn a lot through this site by reading and using the photo critiques.

Hi Beth! Welcome to NPN! I’m also in the Pacific Northwest. I live on Camano Island, about an hour north of Seattle.
Beautiful image for your first post! This is a familiar falls though I can’t place it. Nice light and shutter speed. I like the fall colors showing through the mist above the falls. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work and contributions!

Hi and welcome to NPN! Most of us here practice the art for the sheer fun and challenge of it and not for any income or monetary compensation. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a deep well of experience, knowledge and creativity here. Far from it. This is a terrific opening salvo from you. Most of us are suckers for waterfalls and the more I see from up there, the more I think I need a workshop or two.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the nice reply. I love the area north of Seattle. Never been to Camano Island, but would love to explore more up that way.
Waterfall is in the Columbia Gorge, I believe Wyeth Falls. Super easy walk and very pretty as is everything in the Gorge.
