I’m a total nitwit on the small birds. To me this falls into a vast category called “confusing Fall warblers”. Seen a week ago at the Savannah NWR across the Sav’h River from Savannah, GA.
Scarlet Tanager, probably a female due to bill color.

This is a male scarlet tanager. Females have olive brown wings and tail. Next spring, the yellow green body plumage will be replaced with red feathers…Jim
