I have to give some show time to this Green Heron, who as I was getting out of the car, dropped down into this cove on the Back River. The Heron looks like it’s fed-up with all his neighbors getting so much photo time. The photo was taken on July 26, at 6:35 AM.

Technical Details

Is this a composite: No
Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4x, F10, 700mm, 1/2000, -3.EV, ISO 2500. The shot was cropped by 50% and I adjusted the highlights, micro contrast and removed some algae in the water, using DXO Photo Lab 4.

I like the setting (though I might remove the rock in the RUC). You caught the colors nicely and the detail looks good. He does look as if he’s annoyed with something.

This one looks pretty good. You can crop out the rock in the upper RH corner and some off the top to strengthen. Nice pose and I like the subtle lighting…Jim
