Okefenokee Swamp

This is from the Okefenokee NWR in 2008, somewhere on the north fork of the Suwannee River. I thought the vertical framing of the Cypress trees worked well as a B&W, in a way simple in its complexity, if that makes any sense:wink:

The term ā€œokefenokeeā€ is Native American meaning land of the trembling earth. Hereā€™s a link that may be of interest.

Bill, this looks cool and very abstract in B&W. Good choice and nice image.

I really like what the B&W treatment does to this image, Bill. Most images like this start looking very busy and the monochrome treatment really does simplify it and reduce it to form and texture.

Bill, the ā€œmazeā€ of verticals makes this a striking view. The complexity is great because even as it invites visual exploration, thereā€™s a strong sense of abstraction.
