The Dawning Effect


This was a winter sunrise at an area along the Geology Tour section of JTNP. A 3 image horizontal stitch with MF gear. Winter sunrises in the park can be a bit fickle with regard to where the cloud packs the southeast section and can bring about 2 dimensional flat looks. This morning thankfully was not that condition.

This is quite the sky, Paul, with an amazing set of magenta/pink and blue. It’s also quite a collection of rocks. I like how this pano conveys the sense of a wide landscape with lots and lots of big rock piles.

I love the pink skies of winter. This is certainly different from our winter scenes though! Pink sky over desert is something I’ve never personally witnessed so thank you for the opportunity :grinning:
