Unaccompanied

A single maple leaf clings to a log above the waters of Cole Run. It was a very relaxing moment while I made this image. After I shot this, I just sat there and enjoyed the trees and the sound of rushing water for several minutes.

There are so many things that I like about this photo. The lighting, softness of the water, the yellow leaf contrasting to the the dark colors of the logs and rocks. All of these elements working together to bring a calm. Very nice find.

This scene gives me the feeling of a calming stream running through the forest. Feels quiet and peaceful. I don’t have a lot to add here, as the processing looks fine. The shadows and colors are in check. I would maybe darken down the highlights in the water just below the log. It is the brightest area of the image and my eye goes directly to that bright spot…keep the focus on that nice golden leaf.

Hi Todd:

Thank you for posting and sharing your lovely image.

A very soothing calming relaxing feeling .

One could easily meditate at this spot and soak in the bounty of nature.

Good balance of light and shadows and the colour of the single Maple leaf.

David had a great suggestion to darken down the water just below the tree as it really draws your attention.

Have a great day and look forward to viewing more of your work.
