Windy Peak

A mountain peak above Solomon Lake, Valdez, Alaska during one of our annual high wind events. There are no clouds in the sky. It’s all blowing snow. The wind was still in peaks when I took the photo. It hadn’t dropped down to this point yet.

I have not heard of these conditions before and never would have guessed those were not clouds. It looks quite extreme and very beautiful. I like the contrast with the dark trees as well kind of balancing out the mountain.

Gary, I’ve seen snow blowing off the peaks in Montana under windy conditions, but never see all the clouds being snow blown off the peaks. You comp. emphasizes the peak and the snow blowing off that peak nicely.
