Well…you probably know where this is but just don’t recognize it.
If you were to walk forward through the door, turn right and look up you’d see a carving in the ceiling center beam…“Brooks was here…so was Red.” This is at the Ohio State Reformatory, better known to millions as Shawshank Prison. This was also the Russian prison in Air Force One, it was the prison where Tango and Cash and Escape Plan were filmed as well.

Bob, the pull into the distance of the stairwell adds a great sense of depth here. The X is quite striking.

The X is due to the four rooms off of the center of the building. As long as there’s daylight, the X is present. I went up there one day and one of the doors was closed which took a leg off the X. It was weird…at first it was a ‘what’s wrong with this picture’ kind of thing.
