I love when this happens and that you could catch it with such an active subject is to be applauded. Jays are so interesting and lively - this pose conveys that so well. Also their intelligence and curiosity. Cropping looks good to me, but the branch is unfortunately a tortured soul vying for attention. A gradient filter on the left could possibly help, but you’d have to try it and see. The banding on the wing and tail feathers is a treat to see, something more usually on display in its cousin the blue jay.

Spotlight is the word, You did a good job on the exposure. The light pick-up the gray, highlighted the blue and produced a nice eye kick. You may want to try removing that little branch just above the Stellar beak. Nice photo.
